What it takes to create custom printed ceramic mugs
and glassware favors:
Once an order is received (either for custom printed
ceramic coffee cups or for custom printed glassware),
the order is immediately forwarded to our art department,
where one of our graphic artists will create films
for the logo or text. If a paper proof is required,
the artist will forward that to the customer for approval.
Once a paper proof is approved, the films are used to
burn screens. These screens are used by our screen printers
to create the waterslide ceramic or glass decals. Turnaround
time for production is between seven to ten business
days. We carry a large assortment of colors for printing
including metallic gold and silver. We do try to match
pms (pantone) numbers. If an exact color match is required
(for example a company logo) a pre-production sample
must be requested. This sample enables the customer
to see and approve the cup or glass first hand. Although
it does add several days to production time, it is highly
recommended if exact color match is required. We specialize
in four color process. The decals are then hand-applied
onto the mugs or glasses. After several hours of curing,
the
coffee mugs or glasses
are put into a kiln, where they will be fired at between
1100f and 1450f. This kiln fired process renders the
decals (on the mugs and glasses) completely permanent.
The kiln fired process also renders the wares completely
dishwasher and microwave safe. (metallic inks excluded)
